Inspired by his Acadian roots and life in Atlantic Canada, Ron is considered to be one of Atlantic Canada’s top songwriters. He has released two recordings: Le long retour (2001) and Amène le vent (1994), and has performed throughout Canada and France. Shades of the blues, country and folk music, mixed with a warm, powerful vocal, strong lyrics and engaging personality characterize a Ronald Bourgeois performance.

Ron’s award-winning songs are found in almost every Acadian artist’s repertoire. Suroît, Blou, Lina Boudreau, Wilfred Lebouthillier, George Belliveau and Patrick Verbeke, among others, have all recorded Ron Bourgeois songs. Ron has co-written songs with multi award-winning Canadian singer/songwriter Lennie Gallant, and with Halifax-based composer, Scott Macmillan and has also lent his talent to Nova Scotia artists Rita MacNeil and Terry Kelly, helping them adapt their songs from English to French.

In the spring of 2008, À l’Infini communications will launch a compilation of Ron Bourgeois songs performed by a stellar line up of Canadian and Louisiana artists.
