Ron is ready to take the world by storm with his energetic performances, live band, romantic lyrics and a voice that Luther Vandross anointed as the next crooner! One of the last things Luther said to Ron before Luther’s untimely death, “If you believe in yourself as I believe in you, you would have heaven as your audience and the stars would be at your feet”
Ron has shared the stage with many of the "great ones" in the past few years. He won a lead role in the touring production of “Mama, I Want to Sing”, performing in the United States, Europe, Japan and Taiwan where he made a name for himself as a live performer. He also began as a background singer, working with Phoebe Snow, Chico Debarge and Amel Larrieux. Through these shows Ron caught the attention of Mr. Vandross who signed Ron to an exclusive deal with his production company. Eventually he signed with the manager behind the phenomenal success of multi-platinum Grammy winner Ashanti and headed to the studio, crafting the heartfelt ballad “You Are My Love Song”, first place R&B winner in the 2008 Great American Song Contest, the club songs "Brookllyn Step" and “Playa” and the steppin sensation "All Nite".
“My music is multi-generational,” says Ron. “I write songs that everyone can relate to, an eclectic mix of old school and the new.” He counts soul pioneers Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye among his influences. His music explores the themes of love, respect and social responsibility.
Ron has opened for Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards, Bonie James and Mint Condition. Ron was also a featured artist on Howard University’s WHUR FM and spotlighted as Artist of the Month on the Netherlands’ premiere R&B website www.SaveOurSoul.nl. With his powerful vocals and signature sound, Ron Anthony has ushered in an era of Grown and Sexy R&B.
