The Ron Escheté Trio is widely known as the "trio that sounds like a quartet." Ron Escheté and Todd Johnson, who have been playing together since 1991, both have the unique ability to play bass lines and chord changes at the same time, while Kendall Kay, who joined the trio in 2000, is the glue that holds it all together.
This CD is the result of a night of "live" recording at Spazio on Oct. 28, 2003. The best tracks were picked and, as it turns out, all the tempos are “in the middle.” The music is hard-swinging, melodic, intuitive, joyful and full of life.

Ron does it again. I especially love his arrangement of Bluesette. Those lush chords he uses for the melody. Overall this outing sounds cheerful and inspiring. This CD is definately a winner for Jazz guitar fans!
