The LP "Ronley Teper's Lipliners" began as a monthly performance workshop filled with a rotating roster of diverse musical friends. Twenty improvised shows were the drive behind Ronley's most recent compositions. "Ronley Teper's Lipliners" was Produced by Glen Salley (Justin Rutledge) and Ronley Teper alongside multi instrumentalist Christine Bougie (Amy Millan), Scott Maynard (Rock Plaza Central), Reade Ollivier (Mary Margaret O'Hara), Roman Tome (Elizabeth Shepherd), Tom Howell (Claire Jenkins Band), Ben Bowen (Valery Gore), Josh Van Tassel (Stop Die Resuscitate), Amy Laing (Hidden Cameras) and multi instrumentalist Sarah Shugarman.
The LP of 20 songs is divided into two parts by a musical intermission (interlude) that smoothly leads us from act one into act two. Get ready to hear tracks like "White Girl In Chinatown" where samples taken on a daily stroll through Toronto's Chinatown create the landscape for this story, the eulogy "Pen" for a favourite pen that ran out of ink, the contagious sweet pop sensibility of "Love", "Zzz's" a dark lullaby about falling asleep on the couch with your clothes on, "Toenail" a heart wrenching breakup ballad unknowingly about a toenail that was stubbed and broken while walking sleepishly to the washroom in the middle of the night, and "Lover's On Tuesday" a love song divided into the days of the week that explains why there is so little time for lovemaking. The second act begins with the goosebump invoking track #13 "Faith" and is brought to life through an absolutely stunning animated video by Davide Di Saro.
