Ron Morris' music is a folk/pop mix of carefully crafted tunes defined by his characteristically unique voice and catchy hooks. Originally from Florida, Ron traveled the world meeting people, gathering stories, and growing up. He moved to NYC in 1997 and began turning his stories into songs and singing them wherever he could find space: bars, clubs, coffee shops, theaters, subway stations, and living rooms . After selling home demos of his songs for 6 years, Ron has released his first studio CD, Speak True, on the Roadworm Music label. With producer/arranger,Jess Pillmore, and owner/engineer, Bill Pillmore, Ron has recorded a CD that captures the intimate nature of his songwriting and the spectrum of his live performance. On any given night Ron may be playing a solo acoustic show, a duet with a violinist, or rocking with his band. Pillmore's keen ear has sculpted a musical landscape that shows the magic of his songwriting and the musical possibilities of this promising new talent. As soft as he is strong, wise as he is naive, Ron Morris offers a fresh point of view and signature sound that is uplifting, honest, and leaves the listener feeling as if they've just been let in on a really good secret.

CD Baby brings you folk pop goodness
author: MDMPHD
This is what CD Baby is BRILL'yunt at - introducing artists we wouldn't normally have stumbled across unless we were in the right bar or, in Ron's case, Pride rally. I let this make the rounds at the office and it got thumbs up from three serious folk lovers (the kind who argue about which Joni Mitchell album is her best). Ron has an interesting voice with echoes of Paul Simon in his songwriting, good production values and I'd go see him in person. His website needs some decent photos (he's mighty cute)but that won't stop me from listening to this in the truck for a few weeks in a row. Other cds will just have to wait - Good job, Ron!
