Album Notes

“that’s country…true as red, white and blue…”

If there’s one phrase from Ronnie Dye’s new CD that captures him perfectly… it’s that one.

Ronnie Dye *is* country…from his years as a Phoenix headliner, through personal tragedy and joy, Ronnie’s writing and vocals capture the true spirit of country music.

Don’t let the metropolitan home base of Phoenix fool you.
Ronnie’s Ohio and Kentucky small town roots are evident at the drop of a hat.

When he sings of a tough-willed, southern beauty queen and her ornery, over-protective brother in "Burl Gene’s Sister", you suspect he doesn’t just know these people…they show up at the family reunions.

Ronnie’s own experience in a boating accident lends an eerily prophetic tone to "Gone Fishin"…a song he wrote 2 weeks before his brush with death.

When he incites a Friday night party crowd in "Hey Y’All", you just know he’s been *in* that crowd as many times as in front of it.

The song "That’s Country" paints a picture of small town America and it’s simplest appeal…in a way that only an insider can capture.

"Better Take Off Your Hat" has become a favorite on Ronnie's MySpace page, with over 20K hits. Its' tongue-in-cheek but straight talking lyrics about patriotism and respect for one's country struck a nerve with thousands of listeners...from military families to civilians.

“That’s Country” is straight up power country with a nod to southern rock and roll.
Teamed with producer and co-writer Steve Parrish, the CD features an energetic mix of songs with a wide range of influences… from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Toby Keith and Randy Travis, to Montgomery Gentry and Kenny Chesney.

Featured musicians include Justin Worley, Ronnie Derosett, John Rickard and Andy Varner. Guest backup vocals from Steve Parrish and Fatimah Halim.
