cowboy savant

Loved this album. Gentle and pleasing to the ears. Must admit that all I knew before of Ronnie Cox was vice president Kinsey, but I listened to the music on line and just had to buy it!

Ronny Cox's open expression of heart, humor, family and friends makes this a special CD. Listening to cowboy Savant was like running into an old friend I hadn't seen in ages. Enjoyable, memorable, and moving.

Good song writing, and great playing make this a keeper!

It's out of character for me to write a public review like this, but someone has to tell the uninitiated about the music of Ronny Cox. Forget everything you know about actors making albums... this is no Don Johnson or William Shatner! It IS a GREAT folk-country record. Real, well written, old-fashioned country songs! No over-produced, glossy, pop country here! EXCELLENT lyrics, and a great folky groove make this CD one you want to keep going back to again and again! Song highlights include: "Sanctuary", "Comin' Back To You", "Trash Meets The Cash" and "Back Then" ("Back Then" is hands down the BEST song on the record!)I'm not a professional reviewer...but I know what I like, and I LOVE Ronny Cox's "Cowboy Savant."
