Album Notes

Ron Thomas was born in 1942 and traces his
ancestry to Wales, a country noted for its long
and vigorous tradition of community singing and
music making. His father, Buddy, first introduced
him to the keyboard and improvisation. His
composition teachers include Karlheinz Stockhausen,
Stefan Wolpe and Vittorio Gianinni. He attended
Manhattan School of Music, C. W. Post College,
and the Universities of Pennsylvania and Illinois.
Within the jazz community, Ron is known and
respected as a pianist of unusually fine ability
and inventiveness. He has recorded with Pat Martino
(Live!) and Eric Kloss (One, Two, Free) and has
had the counsel and encouragement of such fine
players as Roland Hanna and Herbie Hancock.
