Album Notes

The Rooster Project is electric soul, a fusion of loop-based electronica and traditional blues music. The arrangements are built exclusively from digitally effected harmonica and vocals. The result is driving, organic, blues rooted electronica. 2005's Clusters and Associations represents TRP's first release. This six track recording was produced by Toronto's DJ serpentONE (Taras Petryk) and mastered by Byron Wong.

While The Rooster Project has only been around since February of 2005, performances have been stunning audiences in Halifax and Toronto. The music hypnotizes. It's simple songs blend atmospheric sounds with melody into beautiful, deeply expressive arrangements. Rooted in the blues, TRP tends to focus on songs of human drama and urban hardship. This can be heard in the Robert Johnson inspired protagonist of "Someone To Love" to a distorted, moody cover of Bo Didley's "Who Do You Love". The result is often heart wrenching but always honest and powerful.
