Album Notes

Adrian Rose is a composer and guitarist based in Birmingham, England. His main instrument is the guitar in its different guises: electric, classical and bass, but the music he writes uses a wide spectrum of sounds and instruments to create a varied musical landscape for the discerning musical explorer…

The CD ‘Ipthistr’ is the starting point for your explorations as it was his debut recording; this project was made especially interesting due to the contributions from fellow musicians on flute, cello, bass guitar and congas, interwoven with guitar parts of many different flavours.

Adrian has played in several bands over the years, ranging from cover bands playing rock & roll and soul, to original bands playing in a similar instrumental style to ‘Ipthistr’. The main example of the latter was Full Circle, which featured at first flute, then later violin as the lead instrument.

Although largely self-taught on the electric guitar, Adrian studied classical guitar at Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating in 1994. While learning guitar he was influenced by the likes of Hendrix, Clapton and Pink Floyd; more recently he has taken onboard the wide range of musical hybrids found in today’s ambient, psychedelic and rock styles.

Apart from composing and recording, Adrian also teaches classical, electric and bass guitar at The Guitar School in Birmingham. He also plays regularly for various musical theatre companies around the Midlands, although this hasn’t yet influenced his compositions!

Excellent

I've owned this cd for a while now, and I can honestly say its one of those albums you never get tired of. There's some really interesting chilled out vibes throughout - I particularly like the flute intro to 'Amthedre'. With each track being professionally recorded, I would say you definatley get your moneys worth. Overall, a great album by a great artist.
