Album Notes

Rosemary Loar began her singing career in the back seat of a station wagon with her six brothers and sisters. Her father would take the family on Sunday drives and the concert would begin.

Rosemary's songs are an intimate conversation about her emotional 'take' on the world, her singular way of processing events and relationships in her life. Rosemary's sense of humor and intensity is apparent in her writing style: sometimes she is screaming back at God with a smile on her face and sometimes she is whispering in your ear. "it's O.K. I've been there too."

Rosemary's music is a synthesis of her entire career: acclaimed cabaret artist, five Broadway shows, (Cats, Sunset Boulevard, Chess, Once Upon A Mattress, and You Can't Take It With You ), originator of a lead character in an Off-broadway play (Radio Gals), Phoebe award winning actress in regional theater, recording artist. (Sting, cast albums of Chess, Sunset Boulevard, Reading Library Series)

Rosemary's songs have been featured on NBC's The Today Show, The Lifetime Network, at Town Hall, Joe Franklin and Joan Hamburg, at the UN Fourth Conference for Women in Beijing and in the documentary Our Daughters, Our Future narrated by Hillary Rodham Clinton.

She has appeared as a featured performer in Lyrics and Lyricists at the 92nd Street "Y", on Garrison Keeler's Prairie Home Companion at Town Hall, and at the Cabaret Convention at Town Hall. A concert soloist, she has headlined with the North Carolina Symphony, the Orlando Symphony and with the Peter Duchin and Nelson Riddle Orchestras. She was also a headliner for the PBS special, New Years Eve with Guy Lombardo. In Show Stoppers on HBO, Ms Loar shared the stage with Ethel Merman and Mary Martin.

Rosemary has played out with her band in the New York and LA metro area for the last 15 years. The Alternative Torch Series (four rock/pop singer/songwriters, four Broadway diva's, one great band) an ongoing event at Symphony Space in NYC, is her brainchild for which she also serves as master of ceremonies.
