Album Notes

Indigo and Iridescent, which Rosemary Loar and Robert W. Atwood produced on the Atlor Music label is Ms. Loar’s fifth CD featuring original pop/rock songs. This CD was 2 1/2 years in the making. The vocals have a huge part in the orchestrations and arrangements. In fact the vocals were the first tracks to be put down instead of the usual rhythm tracks. That way there was more room for the vocal textures. The vocals are used as the usual back-up but also for rhythm (not beat box style) and ambience. On the track "I Sleep With Eyes Wide Open" the voice is used as a rain stick. On "Make Myself Float' The voice sounds like water or rain drops which adds an element of danger and "On Tattooed To My Heart" the voice is imitating the sound of waves thus giving the listener the location of the song. There is also an Mbira on this song which is an African instrument sometimes knows as a finger piano. That track was sent via Wav File as the artist who played on that track lives in Oregon.
"On My Planet" was giving an entirely new arrangement and feel after the engineer brought up the fact that the original production for the song did not fit the vibe of the rest of the CD. So with the same melody and words the song became breezy and more innocent and hopefully just or more effective.
It is the songwriter's intention for the listener of Indigo and Iridescent to feel inspired, relaxed and connected to the deepest element of themselves. Thank you for supporting new music.

Play it forward. This is her most fulfilling music yet. It's really the culmination of lyrics, production and that cool vocal sound. Hard to say what my fave cut is.. so many wonderful songs. It's rare that when the last track is finished, I am still wanting more. Play it for days! As I was listening, I felt like this music was like a ripe, juicy sugar plum that i had just bit into and tasted.
