January 2004, IL - Allegra Rosenberg and Talia Wertico, Illinois' newest and youngest singing sensations, have just released their first CD, "Songs for the Swing Set." It features eight original songs written by these two multi-talented eight-year-old girls. Talia and Allegra are both second graders.
They wrote the songs last summer while playing on the tire swing at summer camp. The original compositions highlight puppies, love, and the seasons. It includes such charmers as "Summer Fun", "Golden Brown" and the soon to be classic, "I Love You Everywhere I Go".
"I guess we just got tired of hearing all these kid's records by adults. We wanted to hear some songs written by kids, but we couldn't find any, so we wrote some ourselves" said Rosenberg. Wertico added "our parents are always doing this kind of thing so we wanted to do it too."
Allegra and Talia have been best friends even before they were born. Their moms met while they were both pregnant. Born two days apart, they've been creative partners ever since. The CD was produced by Allegra's dad, musician and producer Stuart Rosenberg and Talia's mom and dad, also professional musicians and composers, Barb and Paul Wertico (a seven-time Grammy Award winner). Everyone had lots of fun making it, including Allegra's mom, Rachel Rosenberg, the project coordinator and Allegra's brother, Theo.
Allegra's favorite things are: Harry Potter, playing on the computer, ice-skating, swimming and hanging out with friends.
Talia's favorite things are ice-skating, science experiments, drawing, traveling and playing with her dog Rocky, who makes a cameo appearance on the album.

Loved this CD!! When can we expect the next one?
author: Catherine McCurdyWonderfully talented girls! I really hope to hear more from these two. I need to order another CD for my neices and nephew. Each had a different favorite song...my favorites include Golden Brown and Summer Fun. You ROCK!
A delightful, original and well performed group of songs. What a talented duo a
author: Helen & Larry WilkIt is a pleasure to hear these two talented girls perform the songs they have composed. I am impressed that the lyrics seem to express rather mature thoughts for 8 year olds. These girls are thinking about the world and putting those thoughts to music. I am planning to send each set of our grandchildren a CD.
These kids rock!
author: Larry CharlesIt is hard to imagine that these children can possess so much talent. The songs are not only great fun, but they inspire my girls about how much they can accomplish. Buy one for yourselves and one for your kids.
Great for kids of all ages. My 4-11 year olds all like to listen
author: Brenda mother of fourThe CD was very imaginative. We could not wait to hear the next song as they were very creative. We liked summer fun the best. My eight year old son questions whether there are tigers on the African Savannah which leads me to believe that he really paid attention to all the songs. Our only regret is that we wish there were more songs on the CD.
an amazing display of musical talent by these young girls
author: Lorraine LernerI was immediately engaged by both the music and the lyrics. The maturity of the lyrics reflects their thoughts at this time of their lives. The beat is happy, a love of life is everywhere in the recording. The backgroound music enhances the singers in the best possible ways. Young children love the CD.
