Roth Herrlinger in his own words:
“There are a lot of things I love about life, and creating music is way up at the top of the list. When I sit at the piano or pick up a flute, I'm sometimes lucky enough to transcend the moment and allow inspiration to flow freely through me. It's one of the greatest experiences of my life."
Roth donates 10% of the profits from all sales of Translucent to not-for-profit organizations devoted to community enrichment, individual empowerment, environmental sustainability, and the advancement of health care and public education.
A recent review by Wayne Lee, former music critic for the Washington (D.C.) Times, the Seattle Times, and Jazziz, said, “These are the mature compositions of a confident, spirited and emotionally honest songwriter…. These songs are technically proficient, stylistically consistent and firmly rooted in nature, family, and faith. They show an abundant appreciation for simple pleasures and authentic experiences…. This is music that will seep into your subconscious and nourish you with its sheer beauty.”
And here’s what listeners are saying about Roth’s music:
"His music is gorgeous. Drifts right to my soul and keeps going. Vast, delicate, inspiring, powerful." (B.E. - film maker, Los Angeles, CA)
“Imagine lying on a grassy hilltop watching the clouds drift by.
Imagine floating in a warm, tropical bay.
Imagine sleeping under the stars.
You will.” (S.M. - former schoolteacher, Los Angeles, CA)
“Roth's ethereal melodies inspire wondrous fantasies. What some of us try to convey with mere words, he surpasses, translates, with emotions-inspiring song.” (N.S.A. - former reviewer, TIME/Europe, Spoleto Festival USA, Charleston, SC)
“I had one of those really bad days at work. When I left, I wanted to bite someone's head off. I got on the bus for the ride home and listened to ‘Translucent’ on my iPod. By the time I got home, I felt peaceful and renewed. Thanks for writing such beautiful and transformation melodies.” (A.R.G., software engineer, Los Angeles, CA)
“Often the emotion that a composer believes is going into the composition does not reach the listener but with your music both the mood and emotion are presented to the listener on a silver platter. When I hear your music I feel transported to another time and place, away from the present with all of its cares and concerns. That feeling of being transported to another place and time is a rare gift to the listener from the composer. Your music communicates your musical thoughts to the listener so well that it is always worth a hearing.” (J.T. - music professional, Cincinnati, OH)
“As a psychotherapist, I seek soothing, unique music for my clients to enjoy in the waiting room. Roth's music is perfect! Of course, I enjoy it, too!” (C.E., psychotherapist, Palo Alto, CA)
“Roth is that rare bird: an accomplished pianist, singer and composer. His music is rich and varied and comes straight from the heart.” (B.S., music professional, Los Angeles, CA)
"It makes me feel calm and happy... It's nice... It makes me and Mama come from our hearts... Keep playing - we love your music!" (G.L., 6-year-old, Montecito Heights, CA)
"Thank you, Roth, for being the channel of such healing music!!" (G.E., skin therapist, Bay Area, CA)
