Album Notes

Sixteen songs from ten artists in the electronic age. Spanning the scale from electronic pop to beat breakdowns and recycled expressionism, Return of the Permanent Wave chronicles a more mature exploration of the new wave.

The long influences of Bauhaus, Joy Division, Gary Numan, and Kraftwerk are readily apparent in the songs of Burn Like Nero, The Signifying Monkey, and eH FACTOR. Progenitors Soft Cell, Peter Gabriel, early Human League cast their shadows across other tracks. And the pop culture of the 80s is nowhere more apparent than in Egg In Space's 8-bit Nintendo/Commodore 64 peans.

Lazy day beats meet up with post-punk electronica in a fusion that can only be described as permanent wave. This return will crash on your ears like a tsunami.
