Album Notes

The Rough Energy's tribal sound gathers musical instruments coming from different ethnic groups, like the Djembe, the Cajon, and the Congas, that combined with the Didjeridoo create an engaging musical ensemble, of immediate effect. Drums are trait d'union with African and Aboriginal cultures, thanks to the typical Afro-American sonority, from jazz to funk. This is a real "raw energy" coming out from the contact between this trio and the public, and you could not expect anything less from the interaction of:
1. A flutist with a solid classical background, many experiences in jazz and Brazilian music, and a projection towards alternative sounds utilizing the didjeridoo, of the Aboriginal tradition.
2. A percussionist with a Latin music background, contaminated by African sounds, with a wide experience on using the music for drama and a deep taste for experimentation.
3. A drummer with a jazz background and experiences both in Brazilian music and free jazz.
