"Kickin' The Dirt" is a tribute to American Music with Blues being the common thread. Including 12 original tunes, the band’s music draws on a variety of American musical traditions, from jump blues and swing to New Orleans jazz, zydeco, and rockabilly. Nominated for the Seacoast Spotlight Award in the Blues and R&B categories in 2004, 2005, and 2006, Roundhouse was selected to represent Maine in the Semifinals of the International Blues Competition in Memphis, TN in January, 2006. The band is comprised of seasoned musicians whose members have shared the stage with Emmy Lou Harris, The Eagles, James Montgomery, John Hammond, Luther “Guitar Jr.” Johnson, and others. The band attracts a wide variety of music lovers, including local swing dance enthusiasts.
