Fans of Roy C.,
It is quite a feat to have a musical career last over half a century. Roy C. has been producing music for over 51 years now, and the future is still bright. With the release of his first live album and his 16th studio album, 2009 will prove to be the renaissance of Roy C.
I have been fortunate enough to produce this fine album and document the entire experience for the feature length documentary “Roy C. Forever.” I believe this album rivals some of the finest live albums to date. Be sure to listen to the separation between the horns and the Hammond organ. Roy C. Live will continue to reward listeners who appreciate a strong backbeat, crisp guitar riffs, thick bass lines, and of course… the vocal talents of Roy C.
For those of you who are already familiar with Roy C. but have not heard him live, I recommend ordering a hard copy of the album. This album has a refined yet raw recording quality to it, and the artwork is just icing on the cake. Roy C. Live will undoubtedly be a collector’s item.
Thank you to the fans of Roy C. and stay tuned, as there is more of Roy C. to come.
Sincerely,
Chase Thompson

Joy and Pain
author: Chester
Legend has it that Duke Ellington coined the phrase "There are only two kinds of music, good music and bad music"...that was true. The pitiful reality today is that any idiot with a computer can fake and steal all of it, leaving slim or no hope of anything authentic.
Which brings us to "Roy C Live", captured live one night with real players sweating real sweat. This "Real" soul music is both glorious and dangerously truthful that exist magically between the blues moaning how bad it is against the gospel promise of how good it's gonna be. True soul music cries out to feel that joy and pain...and Roy C qualifies, justifies, signifies and dignifies all that.
With a voice is as strong as his early 60's gems, Roy goes from the ancient blues of a too small dick to the timely joy of impeaching George W. Bush, "impeach the whole damn White House!", Roy C ain't lying. Other than the few distractions from a misplaced jazz horn the musicianship is tight solid and respectful. Chase Thompson along with a righteous band of Columbia Soul Detectives sought the truth and found it, creating a work that is worthy of Roy's ultra-cool rare 45s. Buy "Roy C Live" for your best friends and even your enemies! before it's too late because luckily today there still is only two kinds..... "true music and everything else".
