notes
Street musician Eric Royer has been performing bluegrass and old-time music as Royer's One-Man Band since 1993 throughout North America and Europe and has been featured in articles in publications such as The Boston Globe, Dirty Linen, Bluegrass Unlimited, Country Standard Time and The Banjo Newsletter.
Royer plays many instruments at the same time including banjo, Dobro, harmonica, vocals and his unique invention The Guitar Machine. His current version of The Guitar Machine allows him to strum acoustic guitar chords, pick bass lines, strike a cowbell with a golf ball and make a doll (Polly) dance by depressing foot pedals with his feet. Royer's 4th CD "Bluegrass Contraption" is simply a studio recording of him performing in this way.
Royer has also been performing as banjo player in several Boston bands lately, including The Resophonics and The Dave Foley Band.

This is the genius that could solve world hunger...
author: Harry J MendonThis CD is crisp and to the point, a binary, you either love it or hate it. Hearing the music w/o seeing Eric perform live is like visiting Washington DC w/o getting the opportunity to kick George B. in the nuts a couple of times. I wish I had 1/100 the talent and creativity Eric has, an American genius. Thank you Eric.
Excellent listening!!
author: Norma HollandThis CD is great - very talented artist and very unique style. I recommend it highly.

AWEsome!
author: ChristineThis CD is absolutely awesome! Can't get enough of the banjo. Totally zippy tunes. Play it from beginning to end and have memorized it in three days. Must have...
Had to hear it to believe it, now I gotta see it!
author: Charlie RosarioI don't often write my opinions especially about others' musical efforts, but this is truly an amazing album! I bought this CD out of curiosity after someone posted a review on a guitar list that I belong to and was quite pleasantly surprised. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of bluegrass, guitar or bluegrass guitar or folk music in general. I would pay to see this guy in concert! Hope he tours soon...
clever, inovative, interesting; I'd like to see the boy in action.
author: Jerry RyanI very much appreciate the music on this cd since it is a new approach to triditional music. I also have a contraption and cd so I can identify with Steve's effort.
This guy is GREAT!
author: Chris ChadwickRoyer's music is great. How anyone can keep everything going so well is amazing. The lyrics are great, the music is wonderful. I'd buy a ticket anyday to see this guy in person. He should go on tour!
One man wonder! Incredible!
author: D C, TXI'm not a huge fan of blue grass, but I definitely love talent, innovation, and hard work - three things Mr. Royer well represents on this CD. ¡Que increíble!
Hard to believe a mortal man has such talent.
author: Rick LawlessVery good bluegrass cd. Can't stay still while listening.
Awsome music from and crazy dude with an intimidating instrument
author: TheRomanianThis sounds so smooth it's unbelievable. Great music, love the banjo and bluegrass in general. Not to mention the musical contraption this guy designed, which is amazingly awsome-looking and produces a superb sound.
Almost joins the greatest.
author: William RobisonHaving only ten fingers, two feet, and one mouth, Royer can't have all the little counter melodies and riffs that are heard in four and five man groups, but after a few minutes you don't notice their lack. This recording is recommended highly to all. Not just country and Bluegrass fans, all.
