Love Them
author: Mossip - Andrea Guy
One of the artist I feel that has universal appeal to our need for fun in Jimmy Buffett. If your a fan of the man with the Parrotheads, you want to give Roy Jay a good listen. He's got that laid back, fun in the sun sound that embodies country, folk and good old fashioned classic rock. There are several reasons why you want to listen to Roy's Lucky Guy one of those reasons are the songs which are catchy and humorous and very laid back, but just because they are laid back doesn't mean they are fluff or should be discounted. No, don't do that. Just listen and you hear songs about your life, your best friend's life and even the life of that guy down the street.
Go ahead and chuckle to Prettiest Girl in Walmart because the song is so like real life that its scary. If that's not funny enough for you try out Working Burger Blues, about a guy tring to make it in L.A. and doing to well at it.
If you are looking for a fun, summer beach listen that will take you into fall and then some, Lucky guy might just be the new album for your collection. Kick back, turn the music on and let the fun wash over you.

Upbeat contemporary Americana/folk CD
author: Max B. and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team
Who said you can’t judge a book or CD by its cover? Roy Jay’s debut album “Lucky Guy” embodies the relaxed beach tone feeling depicted in his cover artwork. There are twists on this traditional upbeat folk music throughout this disc with tracks like “In and Out of Dreams” where hand-percussion and acoustic guitar are complimented by harmonious background vocals with sing along style. Although mostly leaning towards lighter atmospheres, “Time’s Page,” takes a ballad approach where subtlety and style come into play nicely. The musicianship is sophisticated and mature, but Jay doesn’t take himself too seriously during “Prettiest Girl in Wal-Mart” with a comical trip to the super-store. Get out your sun block as “Lucky Guy” is Americana wrapped up in a beach towel and ready to hit the sand.
