Album Notes

“A radio- and bowling center-friendly CD gives the PBA its first country music star. Instantly gets the foot tapping and head bobbing.” – Dave McMahon, Bowlers Journal International

“If there are any bowlers on your list, this CD would be more than memorable. As a fan of everything bowling, I have to say I just loved it! The lyrics are a riot that only a bowler could appreciate. The CD makes a great gift or collectable just for the packaging. Randy is featured on two of the selections and the other eight are sung by a variety of amazingly good singers.” – Super Saver columnist Jan Leasure

“Toe-tappers, bottom bouncers, and finger snappers. The CD is marvelously fun. And not just for novelty. Pedersen is most pleasing. It’s gonna be in a lot of stockings this December.” – Jerri Bailey, editor, GulfCoast Bowling News

Randy Pedersen, a 13-time champion and million dollar winner on the Professional Bowlers Association tour and now the color commentator on ESPN bowling broadcasts, proves he can carry a tune nearly as well as he does a ten pin in this unique collection that’s music to a bowler’s ears. The fun-loving Pedersen is the featured vocalist on two cuts, the bowling league anthem “Let the Good Times Roll” and the comic “Beer Frame Blues.”

The songs – all composed by Peoria, Ill., artist Tom Dermody and produced by Wayne Johnson – look at bowling and life and sometimes mingle the two. In addition to Pedersen, they are performed by a talented group of central Illinois vocalists and musicians in styles ranging from hot contemporary country to 60s rock and roll. The composer’s favorite is “Someone Else’s Shoes,” an up-tempo number that celebrates diversity by imagining who has shared the same pair of rented bowling shoes.

Dermody has found a niche linking sports and songwriting. His tribute to Bradley University basketball, "Yajusneverno," was a local hit and a video version aired nationally on CBS television's "Road to the Final Four." He is also known for his moving tribute to the U.S. military and their families on the homefront called "I'll Pray You Home."
