Harp virtuoso from Paraguay, Ramon Romero performs the music 'of the people' of South America and Latin America. This is exciting music! Romero's repertoire of more than 700 numbers varies in styles from South American folkloric to modern Latin American rhythms. Carlitos Sermeño, born in El Salvador, Central America, grew up in a musical family. His father began teaching him guitar at an early age and he went on to the learn the piano, drums and various other percussion instruments. In 1981, during the political unrest in his country, Carlitos and his family arrived in the Bay area. He studied with noted percussionists in the area who have played with Carlos Santana. He has produced, arranged and recorded several CD's for other artists and in 2000 Carlitos produced his own CD entitled Sheck It Out which contains samba, reggae, ballads and more. Carlitos has dedicated himself to mastering the great variety of South American instruments: In Cuerdas de Fuego Carlitos performs on cuatro, Andean charango and guitar.
Rafael (Fucho) Aparicio, born in Venezuela, has lived and breathed music since he was five years old. At age six he joined his brothers and sister in the ensemble known world wide as Los Hermanos Aparicio (The Aparicio Brothers). He is acknowledged as one of the best maraca players in the world and soon became a self-taught expert of the Venezuelan-style Cuatro. Fucho studied music at the Conservatory of Music in Venezuela, toured internationally on several continents as well as teaching master classes, workshops and a teaching Residency at the University of Washington, Department of Musicology in Seattle and another at Seattle University. Fucho 'wows' audiences with his innovative playing techniques and his dynamic state presence.
Hugo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began playing the guitar as a teenager, influenced by his mother, a bolero singer, who introduced him to a wide variety of world music. Hugo relishes the process of composing and arranging. He arranged, scored and conducted a full orchestra for the musical "Showboat" in Argentina. In 1991 he came to the United States and lives in Cupertino, California and continues to gather songs from every ethnic group and style of music, old and new, and composes new music daily. His repertoire contains countless songs, including primitive folk music and early American favorites. He plays from a remarkable stored memory of Italian, Latin American, Brazilian, French, Spanish, Russian, Jewish, Greek and German music, plus jazz, rock and pop. His incredible versatile music skills are also demonstrated when playing with classical artists and vocalists. Hugo has recorded and performed with: Adriana Moreno, (Brazilian singer) in the San Francisco Jazz Festival, Carlos Oliveira, Claudio Bebbiano, Maria Marquez, Erika Luckett, Jackeline Rago, the members or "Wild Mange" and Shanna Carlson, who recorded his original song, "You can Fly". Hugo is an owner and partner of Heartstrings Music, a recording studio, where he arranged and produced the romantic album of Italian favorites, "Serenata Italiana" featuring his partner Al Fabrizio on mandolin.
