Album Notes

Produced by Nashville-based Nate Leath, the album features some of Boston’s hottest newcomers, including Emily Elbert, Margaret Glaspy, and the Boston Boys. Reflecting the cultural diversity of the Boston student community, Ramzy plays with over 30 different students and musicians hailing from more than 20 different countries.

Ramzy Suleiman is a pianist, vocalist, and songwriter, and recent graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. The son of a Palestinian activist, Ramzy writes songs about life in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, with an inspirational message for social change.

“The News Caters Home” is the result of a six-month recording using the deep talent pool of young musicians in Boston. Tracks feature all original compositions by Ramzy, centered on his singing and piano playing reminiscent of Ray Charles. The tunes are groove-heavy and soulful, born out of classic rhythm and blues. For the recording of this album, the core Newscasters consisted of Vishal Nayak on drums, Josh Hari on bass, and Randy Runyon on electric guitar.
