Album Notes

This cd was 3 years in the making. Robbin Thompson, a former Bruce Springsteen band mate in the early group STEELMILL writes and sings songs that cross over several genres of music from acoustic blues/rock to country, gospel and easy listening. This cd features guest appearances by harmonica virtuoso Rick Epping and Canadian Songstress Ellen McIlwaine as well as some of Virginia's finest musicians.
The title song, JUST A BLUR IN THE REARVIEW(THAT'S LIFE) was co-written by fellow Virginian, now Nashville songwriter, PHIL VASSAR. It also contains the song I WON'T QUIT that was in the Major motion Picture, THE FIGHTING TEMPTATIONS starring Cuba Gooding,Jr. and Beyonce'. Thompson co-wrote and sang the song with DAVE MATTHEWS BAND members Carter Beauford and Butch Taylor. They also perform it on the cd.

Robbin's Career spans over 30 years in the music business. He's written music for hundreds of commercials, several films and won THE AMERICAN SONG FESTIVAL twice.

a variety of styles explored here, robbin can sing 'em all. I won't quit is a gem. the album (haha, album) is not about 1 theme, rather a collection of songs - hence the different styles. have listened to this multiple times while in the car, it stands up. nice effort, worth having.

This cd delivers more of the great music that I've come to expect from Robbin for the last 30 years. "Water From the Moon" is a beautiful song. I can see the full moon shining down on the Bay when I listen to it. Thanx again, Robbin!!
