The concept of \"Unfinished Art\" is that we, as people, continue to grow and expand and refine ourselves. The CD will also be doing that, and so by purchasing this you automatically receive a free digital subscription to unreleased songs as they are recorded.. expanding the album as time passes. ;)
\"And now your eyes shift from negative spaces
To contours that light up this rough cut design
And now you see it, you\'re sculpture in motion
You\'re unfinished art that keeps going, it keeps going
It keeps going and going and going and going..\"
- from ROUGH CUT*
After 3 years of a full time wood sculpting apprenticeship, Amber Rubarth had a late-night conversation with her mentor who told her the most important thing he had learned in life was for a person to follow their number one passion. Amber said something along the lines of \"Thank you, I am quitting and doing music then,\" and off she went, trading her chainsaw for a guitar and teaching herself to write and play songs.
Her debut record came out 2 years later, and was lauded as \"Top 10 of 2005\" in The Owl Mag (alongside Kanye West, Fiona Apple and Jack Johnson). Soon after she was touring non-stop around the country and Europe, with word spreading fast at her shows and online.
Amber\'s songs beam a refreshing mixture of vulnerability and courage, melancholia and optimism. \"Washing Day\" (co-written with Adam Levy of Norah Jones\' Band) won first place of 15,000 entries in this year\'s International Songwriting Competition (Lyrics). The music video for the song was selected as one of 20 to be officially screened at SXSW (alongside such greats as Thom Yorke and Weird Al Yankovic).
As Music Connection puts it, Rubarth has \"excellent mastery of the guitar, equally impressive on piano.. and a soaring voice that can belt out any tune. As she continues to hone her craft and grow, she may become unstoppable.\"

Something fun and special
author: Howard Pavane
I'm in love with Amber's CD - the handmade edition is really special and worth the wait. Great lyrics and cheerful melodies make this a must for those who appreciate a truly different and uplifting singer-songwriter. It's a good thing it ain't vinyl because I would have worn through too many copies. This is an EP I can, and do, listen to over and over.

What Music Is All About
author: Alisa
I love Ambers refreshing lyrics, voice and perspective. Her lyrics are so pure and direct for me, there isn't a song of hers that I don't love. What truly makes her songs and this album great, I think, is that she has this inspiring simplicity in her music, but she still paints such a detailed and vivid picture for you. All around, a great purchase and a great artist!!
