What people say about RubberSideDown and their debut album, American Romantic:
"RubberSideDown, an upwardly mobile San Francisco band that sounds ready for arenas."
-- San Jose Mercury News
"....alt songs flavored with early Brit punk, psychedelic kicks, grinding grooves, and yes, scorching guitar....This is a smart, cohesive, professional rock band. .... It's a rock radio-ready voice with an alluring rough edge.....
-- Indie-Music.com
"There's something to be said for the Real Deal.....From the first blam of the guitars, and the hit of the drums on the opening song, 'Black Mountain Road', this band got my attention......(lead singer and rhythm guitar player Kevin) Casey possesses that rare blend......that spells rock star. So I stuck around. And the songs pulled me in...."
-- Kimberlye Gold, GrapevineCulture, live show review, Feb. 2004
"I don't know about you, but when a band treads the line
between the sloppy ferocity of The Replacements and the
more commercial pop structure of Matthew Sweet or Tom Petty, I'm on board. Kevin Casey's radio-ready voice gets ample support from a clean, mean and lean rock and roll band......'Morphine' has a soulful vibe reminiscent of INXS (when they were 'on,' anyway)... .the infectious and well-written songs display a band with a focused and original sound that makes you want to hear more. Those West Coasters can lap up what is certainly an electric live show; we East Coasters will have to settle for playing the hell out of this disc until our weather perks up."

Doesn't get any Better!

Alot of bands are trying to find their sound and their groove. Not these guys. This is heavy with an old school touch. Their not working hard to prove themselves, the songs are proof enough. RSD sounds like they're just having a gas doing what they're doing. A MUST HAVE album!

I want to hear more.

This CD is their best yet -- RSD has developed a style all their own, a unique blend of vintage and modern rock, with a little psychedelic sound on the side (you've got to hear "Gasoline"). And I'll bet that Kevin Casey has had his heart broken once or twice -- his vocals are full of angst and bitter reflection, but his romantic soul betrays him. "Zero Fighter" is a blast.

Rock-n-roll the night away with these guys! This album is fabulous--rock out to it, drive to it, run through an orchard at midnight to it. It'll really get your blood moving and feet tapping with a wide variety of songs and vocals with attitude, energy, and soul. They did it again!
