ITunes CD Review of Come Fly With Me
Adelaide Ruble evidently makes her debut recording as a leader with Come Fly with Me. The Washington, D.C., area resident digs deeply into a number of frequently recorded gems from the Great American Songbook backed by a strong band anchored by keyboardist and guitarist Rick Eldridge and some terrific trombone by Harry Watters. Ruble has a warm alto voice and an almost conversation approach … She’s best on the slow ballads like a heartfelt "I Get Along Without You Very Well" (a lovely duet with Eldridge on piano) and a sassy, brisk treatment of "Devil May Care" (complemented by Watters' tasty licks). .
Adelaide Ruble's initial release is a promising beginning to her career as a recording artist.

Bio on All About Jazz:
Adelaide is a native Virginian and studied music at Shenandoah Conservatory of Music. She grew up in a jazz family.
"My father played trumpet in the Louis Armstrong style and jammed with Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey. As a young girl, I was exposed to great jazz - Fats Waller, Dave Brubeck, Stan Kenton, Maynard Ferguson ... Since I studied piano, jazz piano seemed to speak to me and my musical style sprouted when I listened to Sergio Mendez and Brasil '66. Lanie Hall really inspired me and eventually, I began to listen to other great singers like Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughan, Ella, Sammy Davis. Sammy could lead horn sections with his vocal certainty and rhythmic push."
Adelaide and her trio perform jazz standards from the thirties and forties. Her new release, "Come Fly With Me" is her debut recording, to be released in July on the Pentagram label.
While Adelaide resides and performs in the DC metro area, she travels for performances and is available for bookings through Pentagram Records.
