ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Ruby Hill hails from Washougal, a small town in the suburbs of Portland, and pulls their influences from a diverse group of artists. With a mix of relaxed rock, old school soul, and a touch of blues, they combine these influences to create a sound that can be appreciated by old and young alike. Some of their major influences include John Mayer, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Beatles, Otis Redding, Jeff Buckley, Led Zeppelin, Coldplay, and Aretha Franklin.

Although Ruby Hill has been a concept long in the making, they have only been officially together for a little over a year. The band was formed in March of 2007 by Matt Brown (guitar / vocals) and Jacob Battan (bass guitar). In need of a second guitarist, they found Jordan Clark(guitar / back up vocals) He turned out to be a perfect fit for the band and completed the sound Ruby Hill was striving to create.
Ruby Hill knows how to play well as a group, striving to attain a noticeable cohesiveness on stage. Their comfort level on stage exudes a sense of "feel good ease" that is contagious. They have played for University venues in Seattle and intimate venues throughout the Portland area.
