Album Notes

Born in L.A. in 1999, Ruby James moved to Orlando a year later to develop the band on the East coast. They focused on writing together, bringing forth a unique blend of sound and styles. Their influences range from Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow to bands like U2 and The Verve. The songs stretch from soulful, bluesy tunes to darker, moodier modern rock, with clever lyrics and catchy melodies. Ruby's voice is rich and sultry, while Sean's guitar playing combines driving hooks and ethereal textures.

The band has played much of the Orlando scene, in venues such as The Social, Hard Rock Live, House of Blues, Will's Pub, the now defunct Barbarella and Kit Kat clubs, Slingapours, the Axis Florida Music Festival, and also played shows in NYC's legendary The Bitter End, as well as The Mint and The Gig in Hollywood, Ca. They recently opened for War at 98.9 WMMO's Downtown Concert Series in September.

Their songs “Happy Now” and “Sweet as Sin” have been featured on WMMO's weekly Sunday Morning Acoustic program, hosted by Jerry Steffen. Plus, they were voted pick of the week on Real Radio's The Phillips' Phile in September. Their tracks are regularly played every Friday and Saturday night on Slingapours' dance floor by Orlando's DJ Jade.

REVIEWS

Excellent debut
author: Jesse Carrasco
I first heard her sing right after Sept. 11 at The Mint in Los Angeles. I immediately fell in love with her voice and thought she was a huge talent. I'm glad I had the opportunity to purchase the band's CD because it's great! The songs are catchy, have great lyrics, and the vocals are amazing. Each song has a different feel and there are no bad songs on this CD. I highly recommend it.

I don;t buy many cd's. I did buy this one though. Strongest tracks are Don't Turn This Heart Away, Happy Now, Field of Stone, though others are not bad. Guitars 'feel' nice. Great delicacy. Unusual. Vocals are strong, and heartfelt. I admire the lyrics and their candor.
