Sweet As Sin…it stirs the imagination and brings undefinable pleasure to all the senses. In 2006, solo artist, Ruby James began a breakout career that makes all these undefinable pleasures a reality. Not only does this describe Ruby herself, but “Sweet As Sin” is also the name and title track of her debut EP release.

Sultry. It is the voice, coupled with a hint of glamour, sweetness and grit that make up all that is Ruby James. She tells the stories of relationships and love with honesty and understanding that comes from having been there. Life in the real world. You live every song with her. The EP, “Sweet As Sin”, is filled with songs you won’t forget and words you’ve always wanted to say. “The Last Time”, is a song about mending broken hearts and moving on through life’s bitter lessons. A longing to hear the words “I love you” but knowing they may never come and a lie that your heart can make your mind believe is the familiar story in “Say I Love You”. Reaching in to the deepest recesses of your mind, body and soul, “Sweet As Sin” is indescribably delicious.

The soulful journey began in Orlando. Florida with her band named Ruby James. After playing premiere venues, such as Hard Rock Live and The Social to the scores of adoring fans at Orlando’s Wall Street Plaza, it was obvious that Ruby was a star on the rise. So it was in the fall of 2006 that Ruby James began her solo journey. Following in the footsteps of Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow and Chrissy Hynde, Ruby James is blazing her own trail through modern rock.

From stages as intimate as The Continental in Austin or The Viper Room in L.A. to larger concert venues like Hard Rock Live, Ruby is Rock Diva personified. She’s captivating audiences and capturing new fans on every stage she hits. Sharing stages with bands such as Soul Asylum, 7Mary3, War and Fastball, to headlining her own shows, the numbers keep mounting.

2007 is proving to be yet another exciting chapter in the story of Ruby James. She is currently working on her first full length record in Austin, Texas with Austin legends Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan, The Arc Angels, and The Sextones) and brother Will Sexton (Waylon Jennings, Dave Baerwald and Abra Moore). Not only producing, but playing on the sessions, Charlie and Will bring their legendary, classic sound to the fresh and innovative talent of Ruby James. The 2007 touring schedule has already proven to be equally impressive. With dates from Los Angeles to Nashville, Ruby and her stellar band have been burning up the miles, as well as the stages they grace. The band features Sam Aliano ( Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan) on drums, string virtuoso, Rene Reyes on Guitars and the incredible Taki on Bass. With the next leg of the tour taking shape, this is one show you don’t want to miss.
