Album Notes

It is a great blend of punk Electro funk dancehall and tripped out organic folk grooves. It is one of the most original records I have heard in a long time.

Insanity in a box with pretty silver knobs
author: Rebekah Repass (Virginia)
RRF's first full length CD is a chiasmatic fusion of musical genres. From dirty dancehall anthems ("Let the Party Rock," "Rude Rock Family") to an entirely unique and intimate love song ("Blow Up the Sky", with rain pattering in the background on the track), this band does it all. The album is also the perfecy length--short enough that it isn't excessive but long enough that it's worth your money. Every member of Rude Rock Family is enormously talented and brings something different to the table. They can easily alter the genre, mood, and overall outlook of the music, and it still fits. This album has several politically charged songs ("Resisting," "Something About the Truth," neither of which are trite) right along a dirty ditty of lust towards Southern women ("Sex Farm 2003")...and it works perfectly. Bravo for an amazing effort...Rude Rock Family's fans anxiously await the arrival of the next album while dancing their asses off to this one.
