Rhode Island based Run’Wild Band’s self titled debut makes you long for the good old days when rock was fresh, fun and exciting, combining the best of the old with the best and most humbling of the new. Paul Houle is the god behind the guitar, backed by several different drummers and bass players plus the odd keyboardist. So how do you describe them? Think of Vancouver punk forefathers DOA’s Joe Keithly singing 70’s kitsch of the ilk of Cheap Trick and the Kings (Switchin’ To Glide- The Beat Goes On) over wicked rockabilly meets 80’s shred head style guitar playing. They’re amazing. The minute and some long fuzz face distorted intro to Mirage of Love will make you weep from its beauty, the first track, 10-23 will melt your face and more rockabilly inspired cuts like Pushin’ Me, Roll Me, Born To Rock, Rock Me Tonight and the title track, Run ’n Wild will make you want to get down and boogie until the sun rises.
