Album Notes

Rupert Leighton released his debut album 'Beyond Reflection' in July 2005. The CD combined acoustic and electronic music, mixing funky grooves with jazz piano. The album achieved radio airplay across the U.S.A. as well as Europe and Australia, gaining a positive response from DJs and listeners around the world.

One year on and Rupert's follow up album 'Take the Sidewalk' shows more sophistication and ability than its predecessor. From the punchy jazz café style of ‘Amuse-Bouche’ to the simmering grooves of ‘My Sahara’ and the cool jazz of ‘Drift Along’, a truly sumptuous musical journey awaits when you ‘Take the Sidewalk’

Pianist and composer, Rupert Leighton was born in Guildford, England in 1986.
In his mid teens he discovered his ability to play and create music. Inspired by his parents' vast record collection, he began to write his own compositions whilst learning the rudiments of jazz and blues piano. His music has evolved to include a rich mixture of styles, creating his own individual sound.
