Album Notes

Russ Glenn is a Charlottesville, VA based singer/songwriter. After playing at his daughter’s preschool, and realizing just how much fun it is to play for kids, he has put together a one-hour children’s show using Woody Guthrie’s “Grow Big” songs. These songs were written for Woody’s own children in the late 1940’s and are as timeless and fun today as they were back then.

Russ is an energetic and engaging performer. He has a great rapport with children and uses props and volunteers throughout the show. It is wonderful for children to get their own “moment on the stage”, and Russ tries to get all children who volunteer up for a song.

This CD features 6 of his favorite songs. Arlington artist Graham Hardt did the cover artwork and the CD has special guest performances from Scott Harlan (Bass), Andy Hamburger (drums), and Tinsley and Eliana Glenn (Backing vocals).
