I was exhausted from the week, all I wanted was rest. While preparing to retire for the evening, suddenly this song, sweet and clear, rang in my head. And not just music, but the words, key changes, full orchestra … everything! Unsure of what I was hearing, I decided to pull out an old cassette player to record it all. "You are Mine", His gentle voice full of love sang to me. Little did I know that would be the beginning of my hearing God’s voice and following His Word. God combined my love for music and my passion for writing into a wonderful gift of song writing. Some seventy-plus songs later, God still chooses to sing messages of love and life through me. And I am simply amazed.
As if that weren’t enough, He then called me to sing them for Him. Plenty of others have beautiful voices, but for some reason He chose me. So that’s what I am doing. And whenever I sing, I sing both to Him and for Him. He truly is my Praise.
This project is dedicated to Reger Smith, Sr., PhD, the kind social worker with the caring heart who found me, though I was living in an orphanage and considered to be "unadoptable". He took the time to find me a caring, supportive and loving home. A portion of the proceeds from this project with go to Two Scoops N-PAC, Inc., a creative art company that creatively raises awareness of adoption and foster care needs in the community.
