Album Notes

The previous year was a busy one for Reggie as a leader touring with two energized projects under his name; Reggie Washington Trio & Washington TRio TRee. He created these vehicles to continue ever stretching & expanding his acoustic & electric bass chops& grooves over this vast musical spectrum.

During the last 20+ years, Reggie has performed, recorded &/or toured with internatonally recognized artists like: Roy Hargrove, Branford Marsalis, Steve Coleman, Cassandra Wilson, Lester Bowie, Jean-Paul Bourelly, Ute Lemper, Me’Shell Ndegeocello & Oliver Lake to name a few.

We had the pleasure of releasing his debut CD entitled; “A Lot Of Love, LIVE!’’ in October 2006 on Jammin’ colorS !!
(Bang Distribution; BELGIUM)

The CD is comprised of two (2) live concert performances during Reggie’s “My Trios’’ European tours in 2005 & 2006. Both recorded in Brussels; one of the stellar trio line ups is with saxophonist Ravi Coltrane (Roy Haynes, Alice Coltrane) & Gene Lake on drums. (Marcus Miller, Henry Threadgill, David Sanborn)

The other is made up of 2 excellent Belgian musicians; saxophonist Erwin Vann (Venus, Joe Lovano, Paolo Fresu) & Stéphane Galland on drums. (Aka Moon, Joe Zawinul, Axelle Red)

Immediately after the 2006 tour, Reggie suffered a near-career ending accident in a fall & had surgery to repair a broken left hand. His rehabilitation period was spent listening & mixing the CD. One tune on the CD was recorded 3 months after the surgery. (Fanny’s Toy)

The CD has received excellent reviews from Jazz Magazine, All About Jazz, Jazzman, The Music Report etc…. & accolades from his contemporaries in the trade.
