The very explosive and energetic Neo-soul artist Ryan Lewis, Artist/Arranger/Song writer/Producer, from Indie label, Islandboy World, has released his Debut 3 part Gospel Album; 'Diary of praise, The Praise Revolution & The Praise Trilogy.'
This artist who proudly hails from Barbados, has shared the stage with; Reggae Legend Ernie Smith, Richie Righteous, Da Truth, Toronto mass Choir, Juno award nominee, Patricia Shirley, Canton Spirituals, recipients of; Dove, Soul Train, Steller awards and Grammy nomination, Juno Award winner, Susan Aglukark, Three time Maja award winner, Kathy Grant Mahon, Covenant Award nominee Cathy Goddard, Corner Stone award winner, Toni Norville, Smash hit recording artist, Kevin Little, Sherwayne Winchester, Fayeann Lyons, Destra Garcia and many more.
Ryan has recorded 5 albums to date and has been performing on the international circuit for over 10 years, showcasing in most of the Caribbean, England and Canada.
He has been very fortunate to record with the world renowned Eddy Grant at; Ice Records studio during the course of his career.
"Our walk with Christ is defined by the ability to give praise under ever circumstance! Being able to praise God even in the bad times builds spiritual Character and increased intimacy with God. There are so many misconceptions regarding service to Jesus Christ, one of which is the segregation of religion. We have been called first to [serve] 'LOVE' God and the things which are of God, then to [serve]love each other... it is as simple as that.. all the other things come naturally. My intended ministry is outline to open up the doors of intimacy by being real and not idealistic, I'm 'FAR' from perfect, therefore I will not preach perfection, but I strive for excellence at all times, and that's all God wants of us.
When worship is ever mentioned,instantaneously it is thought of in such a cooperate and religious manner... but in my mind... worship is an action induced by overwhelming love and affection. When you love someone or something so much, that your entire being revolves around it, and your existence seem so void without it! that emotion expressed as a result is indeed worship! Worship in my mind is the closest any mortal come to expressing LOVE! It is my goal and mandate, through my music, is to give the listener the desire to focus this desire to express their overwhelming affection to the King of Kings, JESUS CHRIST. This series is outlined to make you get jiggy wid it, sing out loud & get to a new level of intimacy with Jesus Christ."
The album is very moody and edgy, and it is strategically formulated by catchy melodies, and the lyrics were very well orchestrated. 'The Praise Revolution' is a definite 'MUST HAVE.'A mean combination of thought provoking and convicting lyrics along with deep heart gripping worship.
