Album Notes

Ryan Oliver Murphey grew up in Austin, TX. during the burgeoning "Austin City Limits" years of cosmic cowboys and transcendentalist troubadours that was being defined by artists like his father Michael Martin Murphey. In 1988 Ryan was featured on the platinum duet, "Talkin' To The Wrong Man" and he continued to write and perform with his dad until 1998 when he moved to Nashville and joined the Roy Orbison Publishing Co., "Still Working Music". Ryan continued writing and performing his own music with his band, "Lemoncholy" until 2004 when he returned to school and started teaching English. Recently, Ryan has been nominated for a Grammy Award for producing the Best Bluegrass Album of 2009 and he won the Texas Music Award for Best Album in 2010. Ryan was also nominated for Producer of the Year for the TMAs in 2011 and this year he is nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year at the Texas Music Awards for his performance on "New Old Song".
