Album Notes

Up until a year and a half ago RyeLee thought she hated pancakes.
She had a bad experience when she was 5. Turned her off pancakes for life…or so she thought.
Working as a breakfast cook in really, really Northern BC. We’re talking really North.
So North your skin dries up and crumbles off your bones. So dry your eyeballs almost stick to your lids when you blink!
(Too graphic? Sorry.) Anyway, she decided she should try them again. To her surprise, she liked them. Pancakes and RyeLee have been friends ever since.
All breakfast foods in fact. Eating breakfast for dinner is a favourite pastime.

RyeLee started playing bass when she was 9. Her dad wanted a family band.
The band slowly became just her two brothers and she recording it in their grandmother\'s 100 year old farm house. Chords all over the green shag
carpeted floor, life magazine covers plastering the walls.
A picture of grandma and grandpa watching the kids make music using a Fostex FD8, cymbals they hand hammered themselves in the garage to get the
annoying sounds out and a Radioshack crossover somehow in the line to get a good bass thump.

After trying out pancakes again for the first time, RyeLee began thinking about making a solo album. Who knew pancakes would play
such a pivotal role in RyeLee’s life?
She just had to give them a chance…something she hasn’t been good at. Giving things a chance...

A few months later the recording began in full force. In November, RyeLee first hit the stage at the musically historic Lounge of Charlie O and Friends,
a newly revived music spot which saw the beginnings of the likes of Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Burton Cummings.

RyeLee\'s debut album, \'the fall\', was officially released on June 10.
Songs from \'the fall\' have been featured on \"Open Fences\" hosted by Bruce Leperre, CKDM and on \"Shaken not Stirred\" hosted by Wabanakwut
Kinew, CBC Radio One, IndieCan.com Radio, KICK.fm, CHRY, UMFM along with various other college stations across Canada.

Often making bad jokes that only she finds funny.

Singing songs of aching sadness, longing and a glimmer of hope.
