Prior to making the jump to solo artist, Sabrina Judge was the singer and one of the founding members of the dynamic and volatile Los Angeles power trio Wheel. The band was named "one of L.A's finest" by the L.A. Weekly--an observation that was clear to anyone who had seen them perform at the Whiskey, Roxy or House of Blues. Judge's striking physical presence onstage is as compelling as her music: "White knuckles clutched around the mike stand, body tensed like a cat about to pounce, with a sudden release like a spring uncoiling." It is that kind of energy that makes such songs as "Big Surprise" and "Come Out and Play" so powerful.

Her voice is a thing of beauty. A true pleasure to listen to.

The songwriting is very poetic and honest. Song after song she lays herself on the line. The lyrics are stark and direct, which really showcases her singing. Her voice sounds like a bakery smells before breakfast, or like chocolate fudge is supposed to taste. I'll add only that I would eat chocolate fudge for a living if I could. So I guess that makes the record delicious. Enjoy!

Seductive singing and elegant production

Sabrina's record is wonderful. With her great and expressive voice she has created a rich and inspiring blend of multiple vocal parts, with sublime moments of interaction between foreground and background chorus. Add to this a complex atmosphere of intricate and tasty guitar textures and the result is a lot of timbral complexity, much of it on a fairly subtle level, that rewards multiple listenings. Buy this album if you like highly creative and seductive singing, good songwriting and elegantly ambient production.
