Album Notes

Sachem Orenda is a prog rock/electronic solo artist from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania

Ethical Atheism was a title I came up with after strongly evaluating the purpose of my music. All of my songs are heavily based on philosophy. As an atheist I have been frustrated with questions of morality outside of a religious basis. This idea is accurately conveyed in the song Affectionate Progress, which was the original album title I tossed around. In the end I concluded that I wanted my music to be a means of venting all of the philosophical questions running through my mind. Of these the most important one being: How can an atheist live an ethical life?

The album is a combination of rock and electro sounds to create somewhat of a light industrial environment. The main influential artists to my style are Raymond "Pig" Watts, Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode. They have convinced me to maintain a partial pop sound despite my unconventional approach to writing music.
