Album Notes

Sachi is an eclectic adventure that one critic described as sounding like "Zappa jamming with Metallica in India." But the music of Sachi also takes time to touch down to earth with plenty of rootsy, classic rock grooves in the vein of the Doors and Deep Purple. Take your pick, and there's probably something for you in this band's colorful palate of influences. It's all on "Synthesis", the quartet's second disc that is rich in dark, chunky guitar melodies, wicked keyboard solos and deep, raspy female vocals. While the album covers the gamut of styles - from blues to heavy metal - it is mainly a collection of straight-ahead hard rock songs about relationships, politics and creepy things related to the subconscious.

Sachi is a Southern California alternative rock band led by a Japanese-American female singer. The four-piece group formed in early 2001 and plays original material from the desert to Los Angeles. "Synthesis" is Sachi's followup album to its 2001 debut "Reflection" which was the singer's solo album. The first album is also available for sale at http://www.soundclick.com/sachi.

If music had a brain...Sachi would be the valedictorian

This Cd is a one of a kind, multi-dimensional, innovative piece of art. Although, Sachi is not something I'd usually listen to, I almost feel smarter for doing so (imagine that). Melissa Pinion is the harmonic voice behind the musically diverse rock, spitting out introspective verses and poetic thoughts. The music is, well, hard to explain but well-worth lending your ear to. (One song, you have rock, the next there are keyboards, the next has a metal touch to it). Put it this way, if music had a brain...Sachi would be the valedictorian.

Why you should pay attention
author: Inland Valley Daily Bulletin

The past meets the present: The group's original sound covers the range of '70s classic rock, '80s progressive rock and modern punk, metal and electronic-driven alternative rock. In the band's latest CD, "Synthesis," Pinion sings about broken relationships, past regrets and and alternate states of consciousness. "(The album) touches on a lot of different topics, but something that pops up quite a bit is a lot of dark themes," Pinion said. "Nightmares, dreaming, insomnia."

Great driving music

I bought this at a show and was I impressed. Every song takes you down a different path. This music is really deep. The guitars are very melodic. The drums and bass are indeed the force on the cd. Sachi's vocals are very sensual and charismatic. I think this band has what it takes to become the next big thing.
