Chanted for over 4000 years, the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is believed to be the most powerful of all the ancient Sanskrit mantras. It is used for healing on all levels--physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Some claim it has the ability to avert death. The vibrational intention of this mantra is for spiritual awakening. Mahamrityunjaya means "victory over the great death"--victory over the illusion that we are separate from Spirit. Use "Mantra for Healing" during and after surgery, to heal from illness or emotional trauma, as a meditation, for centering and calming the mind, for relaxation and massage, or played softly in the room of a person who is preparing for transition.

In "Mantra for Healing," Karuna and the Sacred Sound Choir are accompanied by Barry Phillips on cello, dilruba, swar mandal, and tanpura.

The Cover Yantra can be used for meditation, either by itself or while listening to this chant. It is called Sri Mahamrityunjaya Kavach Yantra--a protection yantra for conquering the great death. It is said that being established in the center of this yantra is like wearing a suit of spiked armor which stops the enemy of destruction or death.

    Truly a wonderful work here. The chanting is relaxing and tends to even out any roughness the day brings. It's great for a ride in the car, relaxing in the house or preparing for swimming and cycling. I like all types of music but this reaches deep, where I really live, and keeps me focused wherever I am. I highly recommend this CD if you like chants. Make more please !

    This CD is Brilliant. Since I've been using it, it has given me inner peace. I go to sleep at night playing it and wake up energised in the morning.     The choir's name and the CD's title really say it all! Some days, I have it playing continuously in my home and I can literally feel the peace intensify. I've also tried playing it a low volume while I sleep at night, and find my sleep experience becomes deeper and more restful. Best of all, sing along with it for the duration of the CD--you will experience a change of consciousness. Aum, peace, Amen.

    I have always been into chanting. I enjoy the cd immensley and would like to see more. The only thing that is missing is a follow-along-sheet so we can chant in complete along with the cd. This cd is high on my list.
