Sinking Into Darkness

by Sacre Noir

Staying true to the haunting, lo-fi atmospheric sounds that have become a trademark of Sacre Noir, this album manages to capture the live style too & draws on more up-beat influences than those found on the debut album ‘Her Volatile Condition’.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The ten track album was recorded at Savage Studios in Edinburgh over a period of around two years, with additional material being recorded around Edinburgh, and on tour in Paris, London and Berlin. This helped to capture the raw intensity of the Sacre Noir live show, balanced with the sombre moments of reflection & melancholy.
Sacre Noir are releasing their 2nd full length album on Savage Recordings (UK), on the 23rd July 2012. ‘Sinking Into Darkness’ delivers a more ‘live’ sound whilst staying true to the lo-fi haunting melodies identified with Sacre Noir. This second album captures the more upbeat influences found in the live show. The first single to be taken from the album ‘She Can’t Take It’ was released in May 2012 along with the band’s first music video and has received great reviews so far.
The cover image for ‘Sinking Into Darkness’ comes from a photo that the band took of a piece of street art in Berlin (from the Winter Tour of 2011). So in love with the image, the artist Nick Gregson was contacted and generously allowed the photo to be replicated for the album cover. The feeling was that this piece, and Nick’s work generally, really sums up the contradictions of darkness and light within the album as a whole.
