Album Notes

In a music industry where morals and common sense are not so common, a few shine though to show us there's still hope. In lieu of a historical time in American history, change is quickly becoming the theme for music as well as politics. We find more artists reaching back to the 80's and 90's for music and fashion inspiration.

Los Angeles rapper, Sacrifice is the throwback change to a materialistic industry that many have been looking for. At the tender age of 9, Sacrifice started penning his ideas in the form of a journal. “I never really did the poetry thing, (it was) more like memoirs”. After years of writing, he took his first step into the music industry through the
turntables.

That transformed into production and quickly put him on the road produce his first album, titled “Judas Tale” in 2000. In his turbulent years as a young adult, he then released his next project titled “Sybil” in 2006. With the success of the second album, the anticipation among fans is high for his current project “Nexodus:The Art of Escapism” set for release this fall.

“The title for this album comes from two words “next exodus”, a change in the minds of the people “. Influences for Sacrifice stem heavily from his Jamaican roots, his music took on a life dedicated to bringing classics back to Hip Hop. “This album is focused on a true mental revolution, we need to escape mentally before change can really happen in our communities.

Sacrifice, also known as the producer Kreeper, decided to take a break on most of the production on “Nexodus” and passed the torch to upcoming producers from all over the country. “I have production credits on this album from Van Hunt, THX, Cushman,, DJ Cass, DJ Noc, A.M.S, and Young L”. With an impressive lineup of newcomers and veterans, the album has the right touch of throwback sound to
please even the most discriminating vintage Hip-Hop fan.

Sacrifice is also known as a neo-activist, focusing much of his attention to changing the violent environment of his neighborhood in East South Central. “I call myself a neo-activist because I'm not marching and protesting anymore, I've been though that, now its time for action” He started a grass roots organization called the Crusaders, focused on turning inner city kids into productive men and women. “In a time where most inner city fathers are out of the home, we need to stop complaining and start rebuilding the youth now.” Change is the constant staple for President Barack Obama, and Sacrifice is the musical change that many have been waiting for.
