The Healing Art of Conscious Breathing CD comes complete with instructions, claims and a disclaimer that are totally accurate. I use the CD to assist me with managing my COPD. This CD does not cover 'Purse' Breathing however the CD does seem to increase lung air capacity meaning that I use less medication increasing my quality of life. In my opinion, this CD is a must for anyone who wants to heal their bodies.

This is my first work with Conscious Breathing (also known as Circular Breathing and Rebirthing). I have experienced states of heightened awareness (lasting 30-60 mins), tingling in my hands (intense) and belly, and also a large (though temporary) release from my lower back pain! I have only done the 20 min breath work on the cd 5 times now. Eventually you work up to 60 mins per day. And then you work up to 60 mins with a higher breathing rate.
I am pretty interested to see where this goes, as I have really just started and can't imagine 1hr of this intense breath work.
I was not sure what to think about breathing along with a recorded breath. I thought music would be better. But, I can say that it really serves it purpose. I seem to mostly stay conscious and focused on the breath and it is at such a "circular" pace (no pausing at all). I really recommend this cd to all who have any curiousity at finding out what Conscious breathing may be and may bring. Also, look into this topic more, as some interesting "things" may come up from your past, as the breath (energy) seems to get down deep in your body and often times bring up forgotten memories (hence the term rebirthing - the maker of the cd coined this term a long time ago as memories from birth came up for him). I'll try to write an update in the next few months.

This is a very useful resource for those who are interested in pursuing conscious breathing as a method of healing. The introduction is both informative and interesting. The tracks include several levels of breathing sounds. You hear breathing which, importantly, is paced to help the efficacy of your breath work. I have found in my experience that it's easy to lose track of an even paced breath when breathing alone. This cd is extremely helpful with keeping my breath "on track." I am grateful to own a copy of this work as I plan on continuing to use it for myself and with my friends who wish to experience conscious breathing.

As someone totally new to the concept of conscious breathing, this CD by Sadhana Concepts has been a truly amazing experience. For once here is a product for which both the claims and even disclaimer are totally justified. The effects on the body do remind me of those 15km runs through the forest and that was after only a 20min session!
