saffron summerfield started out on the uk folk scene as a teenage in the mid seventies, alongside sandy denny,al stewart and john martyn etc. she is a great songwriter and musician.works in the states regularly on tour eg february 2004 in california.saffron plays guitar,bouzouki,cuatro and keyboards. she is recording a new cd with dave swarbrick - english folk fiddle player.sing out! magazine has a review of stonemason's dream in the fall issue on page 175.
a very unique sound that is easily accessible.saffrojn has written songs for british tv and films.
described as a cross between joni mitchell and suzanne vega WITH a hint of the vocalese of Nora Jones!
