Album Notes

SAGA T.C. wrote his first rap in 1985. "'85 was the year, I gave a premiere that made it clear!" (taken from the song, ALL I GOT.) He started taking his artistry seriously in high school while performing at all the dance parties and getting the crowd hyped. From there, he formed a rap group with two of his classmates and became, "THE EMPIRE". Around '91, SAGA recorded in the studio for the first time and FELL IN LOVE! "THE EMPIRE" recorded several songs. From the venture, SAGA T.C. learned a lot in a short period of time, especially how SHADY the music industry can be.

In '96, SAGA T.C. got the opportunity to write and record a radio rap jingle commercial for J.D. Byrider, which is a well known car company. This was a huge success! As a result of the commercial, many fans started calling up to the radio station requesting to hear the jingle. Even more, some people called the company's corporate office asking where could they BUY a COPY of the commercial! J.D. Byrider sold a lot of cars during this time as a result of SAGA T.C.'s creativity and marketable sound.

In '98, SAGA T.C. ran into an old high school buddy at a local club and found out that his friend had started his own independent record label called Hip Hop Groove Entertainment. His friend recalled SAGA's tight flows from back in the day and wanted to sign SAGA to his label. After thinking it over, SAGA T.C. decided to take him up on his offer. Shortly after that, "THE PACK", was formed which consisted of four young men from Indianapolis including SAGA T.C.'s younger brother, the ORIGINAL, J-Toven.

In '99, LAND OF THE LOST was released and received several good reviews. The group was invited to perform at the Atlantis Music Conference held in Atlanta which also gave them some good exposure. In addition, The Pack performed at several venues in Indy, sold hundreds of CD's, and most of all gave SAGA T.C. his first break as far as releasing some of his own material for consumers to intake and appreciate.

One of the biggest highlights of that whole ordeal was getting their song, CRU' SUMMER, played on the radio, during a segment called Smash or Trash, where radio listeners call in to critique new songs that are played and can either "smash it" or "trash it." Needless to say, the song was SMASHED, but because the group was NOT SIGNED TO A MAJOR RECORD LABEL, the song could not be put into regular rotation. However, it proved that The Pack possessed the potential and the talent to contend in the music industry had they been signed to a Major. Shortly after, the group disbanded because some of the main artists decided they wanted to head in different directions, as far as lyrical content.

Since then, SAGA T.C. has been working hard to release his FIRST solo C.D. which is entitled, ALL I GOT. This album is destined to satisfy all TRUE RAP FANS who love good music(with smooth basslines, strings, piano, flutes, etc.) and especially LYRICAL CONTENT. This album is definitely versatile, which includes a few up-tempo dance tracks, several slow, bob yo' head while cruisin' in yo' ride joints, as well as those mid tempo jams that anyone can vibe to.

As far as topics, SAGA speaks on everything including GOD, prostitution, artists selling their souls just to get a record deal, the need to cry sometimes, etc. It is one THRILLING roller coaster ride that will have listeners thinking very deeply, laughing and even crying. What is even more refreshing is that SAGA T.C. makes it a point to create songs that EVERYONE CAN LISTEN TO, including kids as well as older adults. Finally, LOVERS of LYRICAL FLOW will be amazed at SAGA's verbal skills and smooth rhyme pattern techniques, which come from 20 years of experience!!

CHECK OUT THIS SEQUENCE WHICH RHYMES ALMOST EVERY WORD IN THE SENTENCE! TAKEN FROM THE SONG "WHAT'S LIFE..."

"Now TIME'S-- STEADY MOVIN' and the YEARS are PASSIN',
to unWIND, I'm HEAVY GROOVIN', but my TEARS are LASTIN'.."

AS YOU WILL FIND, SAGA T.C. IS A LYRICAL GENIUS!

(ALL SONGS WERE PRODUCED BY SAGA T.C. AND HIS YOUNGER BROTHER, the ORIGINAL, J-TOVEN)

I found myself singing the hook after the second time I heard it!

From the beginning to the end you just listen, jam, bop ya head, and sing along. No need to skip to the next song. They're all good! You can relate to what Saga TC is saying, like in All I Got, the lyrics are deep, uncut, raw, and true. I have always been a fan of Rap but haven't always liked the message, or felt that the message was degrading and I couldn't listen to the CD with certain people in the car. "All I Got" is all that a GREAT Rap CD is AND you can listen to it with even your Grandmother in the car! The first Solo CD of Saga TC along with his brother J-Toven is nothing sort of genius! The single "You are" is my favorite. This song hit home for me and is the greatest love song ever written in my opinion! I was lucky enough to have my CD signed by Saga TC himself, because as soon as he is discovered and signed the guy is gonna be FAMOUS! Anyone out there who loves Rap has to have this CD for their collections. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!
