Ballads & Burlesque is the sixth release from DIY Maverick and John Lennon Songwriting Contest Grand Prize winner Rachael Sage. The follow-up to 2003's critically acclaimed Public Record - which debuted at #2 on CMJ's AAA Most Added Chart in addition to charting on Commercial AAA stations nationwide - Ballads & Burlesque is self-produced and mixed by Kevin Killen (Peter Gabriel, Paula Cole, Elvis Costello). On her latest CD Sage enlisted NYC musicians including Doug Yowell (Duncan Sheik), Richard Gates (Patty Larkin) and Ben Butler (Dar Williams) to flesh out her trademark "folk-noir" sound.
