SAGE4 (formerly SAGE) is a powerful and unique female-fronted Heavy Metal band that is exploding out of Chicago's original rock scene. SAGE4 combines elements of Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Progressive Rock, Gothic Rock and Alternative Rock to create a sound that breaks through musical boundaries.
SAGE4 features one-of-a-kind powerhouse vocalist Tracey Sage, who has been described by Sea of Tranquility as how Maynard James Keenan (from TOOL, A Perfect Circle) "might sound had he been born with ovaries". SAGE4 captivates their audience on all levels with intense live performances, dark and aggressive melodies, edgy, thought-provoking lyrics, impeccable musicianship and killer style.
As stated by MidwestBands.com, "Their music is the stuff of virtuosos, tapping into sounds similar to bands like Tool, Dream Theater and A Perfect Circle. With the vocal strength of Tracey Sage and the musical talent of Mike, Vito, and Eric, expect big things, and be listening for a lot of clatter in the Industry regarding the band"!
Endorsements: Randall Amps, Dean Markley Strings, Stylus Picks and M.A.C.E. Music's String Dampeners.
SAGE4 won the Hot Topic National Battle of the bands and has landed a huge movie soundtrack/appearance in the upcoming horror movie "Evil Angel" starring Ving Rhames! The band is currently in the studio working on their debut full length CD release.

This band has really created its own style
author: Strutter
SAGE from Chicago is quite an original band, because this female fronted band is playing Melodic Progressive Hardrock with some out of the ordinary rhythms. Best example is their song “Ever unanswered”, an exciting well-thought 7-minutes counting epic Progressive Rocksong that has some sort of ‘Arabic’ feel, which you don’t hear that often. Anyway, the other 4 songs are mostly Progressive Hardrock with an important part for the female lead singer Tracey who has an own way of singing, so no
comparisons here. In fact, the band has really created an own style, and although some might compare them to EVANESCENCE, I think SAGE is definitely more original and progressive. Other hiighlights on their mini-CD ‘Lightning strikes’ are “Scarecrow” and “Blindsided”. Concluded, a good all-original female fronted Progressive Hardrockband.

Sage will have a serious opportunity to crack the mainstream jugular.
author: Sea of Tranquility, reviewed by Elias Granillo
Lightning Strikes is marked by the same airy, punchy production that yields a huge, in-your-face sound—from which this band’s style benefits. Jagged guitar leads mesh perfectly with the rhythm section’s piledriving TOOLisms on “Dust,” the leadoff cut—and obvious choice for a lead single. “Ever Unanswered” builds over an authentically sitarlike guitar lead and a hypnotic bass riff. Tracey’s lilting vocal is tops on this tune. “Scarecrow” and “Blindsided” continue to familiarize one with the band’s style, and it becomes very apparent what an asset Tracey’s voice is—hold on to this gal! “Lightning Strikes” closes this round as the most uptempo, jarring cut (alongside “Scarecrow).” Guitarist Mike W doles out some nice runs, and the song’s denouement follows a crescendo worthy of Fates Warning. If the right cards fall, Sage will have a serious opportunity to crack the mainstream jugular.

Provides numerous avenues for Sage to break out into the mainstream.
author: Progression Magazine
With an uncommon voice that lends Chicago’s SAGE a hypnotic and gritty sound, singer Tracey carries the five songs on Lightning Strikes, with simmering confidence. Pretty, operatic vocals, be damned, Tracey’s voice is not your typical female-fronted fare. SAGE’s eclectic mix of progressive, alternative and heavy metal- sort of like Tool, Rush and Evanescence playing on the same stage- provides numerous avenues for SAGE to break out into the mainstream. From the Middle Eastern tinged “Ever Unanswered” to the undeniably catchy “Dust”, SAGE shows great potential. SAGE goes beyond such superfluous imagery to reveal the stark essence of these songs via intelligent lyrics set to music that lacks practically all pretensions.
